PHYSICAL PROFILE Standing at nearly six feet tall, Carol has a fit, in-shape figure. She has blue eyes and blonde hair and is as beautiful as she is intimidating.
PERSONALITY Carol is a very strong-willed woman. Her father had wanted her to have been a boy, but since Carol was not a boy, he treated her very differently than he did her two older brothers. He always said that a woman's place was in the home, and he forbade Carol from going to college. Instead, she joined the Air Force (and while there earned her 4 year degree), and she worked her way up the ladder earning the title Major. Perhaps she feels she has a lot to prove to her father (and the rest of the world). She gives everything her all and refuses to "half-ass" anything.

She is self-reliant and independent. If you cross her, Carol can be quite confrontational. Her strength of will is quite strong, suggesting that she would be resistant to mental domination (but by no means immune). Carol can often be seen as outspoken, as she is often direct and assertive.

"I'd prefer that you called me Ms. Marvel! My civilian name is reserved for my friends - a category which definitely excludes you!" ~ Ms. Marvel, Fantastic Four 376

FLIGHT - Carol is able to fly at nearly the speed of sound and has even broken the sound barrier from time to time, but she cannot reach escape velocity and cannot survive in the vacuum of outer space without a proper space suit.

Carol can lift up to around 50 tons and can easily lift and throw cars/tanks/etc.

Carol’s reflexes have been enhanced to levels that are beyond the natural physical limits of even the finest human athlete.

Carol has the ability to subconsciously anticipate an opponent’s moves. This is not something that she can control, and it is not always reliable; however, it can certainly help out in a pinch.

Carol can take hits from most standard weaponry without injury, and she can also withstand machine gun fire, mortar shells and most standard energy weaponry. However, after being hit with enough force for a long enough period of time, Carol will weaken and become more and more susceptible to injury as time, and the battle, goes on.

ADVANTAGES CHARISMATIC - Danvers just seems to have that special magnetic charm or appeal about her. There is something about Carol that people just can't seem to resist. She seems to have a personal attractiveness or interesting-ness that enables her to influence others in a positive manner.

COMBAT REFLEXES - Danvers can react to threats almost instantly, meaning that she is very difficult to surprise and is extremely effective in close-range hand-to-hand combat. She has years of military and special ops training under her belt.

CONVICTION - Danvers possesses a great belief in herself, what she does, and what she stands for. She is able to stand up to the forces of evil and temptation better than most.

DAMN HEALTHY! - Danvers is, as the name implies, damn healthy. She eats all the right foods and partakes in plenty of exercise to keep herself in tiptop shape.

HARD TO KILL - Simply put, Danvers is incredibly difficult to kill. Even when you try to blow her to bits, she has an annoying habit of surviving... somehow.
SKILLS COMBAT STYLE (Martial Arts) - Danvers has been extensively trained in armed and unarmed combat, including numerous martial arts. This would include Modern Army Combatives training in Boxing, Brazilian Jujitsu, Muay Thai, Judo and Escrima.

The art of spying. Danvers has been trained in espionage and infiltration. She notices small clues, can operate spy equipment, and tell when someone is on her trail.

LANGUAGES - Carol is fluent in English, Russian, and Arabic. She has a limited vocabulary in many other languages.

Understanding of the armed services. Danvers is able to lead troops and also understand a military commander's strategies. Carol is also an accomplished pilot, having extensive experience with USAF planes and other governmental aircraft. Her training as a pilot allows her to perform complex flight maneuvers.

WEAPON STYLE (Guns) - Danvers has had extensive training with modern personal firearms of all types: handguns, rifles, shotguns, submachine guns, including laser, stun, and concussion varieties.
DISADVANTAGES LIMITED USE – Ms. Marvel cannot command her Seventh Sense. It works through her subconsciousness, and it can only show her an opponent’s POSSIBLE next move. It is not infallible.

MORTAL - Near-invulnerability does not equal immortal. Carol is human, despite her superhuman abilities, and can be killed just like anyone else. It just takes a hell of a lot more to take down Ms. Marvel than it would an Average Joe.

The world at large does not know that Ms. Marvel is, was or even might be Carol Danvers. Of all the secrets she possesses, this is likely her most guarded one. Some people do know about her secret identity, such as Nick Fury and other members of the Avengers.

Carol Susan Jane Danvers was born into a stereotypical all-American type of family. Her father was a retired Air Force pilot, and her brother, Joseph Jr., had also served in the military (sadly, he lost his life during the Gulf War in a roadside bombing by Afghani insurgents). Her father had always wanted Carol to have been a boy, but since Carol was not a boy, he treated her very differently than he did her two older brothers. He had always said that a woman's place was in the home, and hence, he forbade Carol from going to college; Carol's mother was always soft spoken and completely dominated (but never abused) by her husband.

Instead of going straight to college after graduating from high school, Carol joined the Air Force, where she also simultaneously earned her 4 year degree through the educational programs offered by the Air Force. She wants so badly for her father to be proud of her and to accept the fact that although she wasn't the baby boy he had been hoping for, that she is just as good and worthy of his love and respect as her brothers. His true feelings for his daughter remain to be seen.

Carol was able to fulfill her dreams of flying and her love of aircraft through her time with the US Air Force. She was a top student at the Air Force Academy and enjoyed a rapid career advancement, quickly rising to the rank of Major and vastly impressing her superiors. Because of her stellar performance, superb combat skills and natural intellect, Carol was soon recruited into the intelligence field. She ended up serving with the C.I.A., during which time she met and worked with Nick Fury. She was partnered with Colonel Michael Rossi and the two became lovers. Carol had a distinguished career in the C.I.A.

Danvers has been recruited onto Nick Fury's special S.H.I.E.L.D. team. Her expertise is with espionage and military tactics; however, Fury has asked her to act as a liaison with the newly established Avengers, of the Avengers Initiative project, and she is slowly becoming accustomed to working with a team that is made up of super powered or otherwise enhanced people. There are, of course, some personality clashes; on the flip-side, Carol has made fast friendships with others. Carol often feels the burden of being less powerful than those she works with, as she is just a regular, All-American woman; although, she would never consciously show this. Carol would rather project herself as fearless.

Due to a recent accident on a field mission with the Avengers that also included the X-Men, the Shi'ar and the Phoenix Force, Carol has developed uncanny abilities of her own: the ability to fly, super strength, near-invulnerability and a "seventh sense" which can prove to be quite handy during combat situations (and which people sometimes tend to forget she has). Carol has taken on the codename: Ms. Marvel, and she has since been officially added to the Avengers active roster - now as more than simply a liaison.
